Types of Soccer

Soccer
The Ontario Soccer Association is guided by the FIFA Laws of the Game in relation to the metrics of soccer fields. Participants should refer to 'Law One' of the FIFA Laws of the Game which detail the size, surface, goals and markings related to a soccer field.

Small Sided Soccer
Until now,  Mini Soccer rules in Ontario have been interpreted differently in terms of number of players playing to the size of field and goal sizes used.

Indoor
The OSA has established a set of Indoor Playing Rules that shows flexibility when it comes to facility dimensions and configurations but also ensures consistent standards for those aspects of the indoor game not bound by the type of facility.

Futsal
The Ontario Soccer Association ran the first-ever Ontario Futsal Cup in 2006.  Futsal has become an increasingly popular sport both around the world and across the province of Ontario. FIFA has named Futsal as the official indoor soccer game.  Futsal leagues have been developing in the Greater Toronto, Ottawa and Western Ontario Regions for a number of years now.

Disability Soccer
The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) recognizes the growth in soccer for players with disabilities. Greater representation is being made at an international level through events such as the Paralympics and the growing interest from players at the grassroots level is an encouraging sign.

WELCOME TO NFSC

Welcome to the brand new Niagara Falls Soccer Club web sites. Coaches can manage your own teams, players can view schedules and look for on-line registration for clinics and leagues shortly.

Toronto FC Academy @ Niagara Falls Soccer Club, are pleased to announce their affiliation not only to our Club, but to our community. It is because of Clubs such as NFSC, who are committed to their community, that Toronto FC wants to create a structured path to excellence. The goal is to provide stability and continuity in the development of players in Ontario and Canada through partnerships with youth clubs that have and met goals that correspond with TFC standards for development and elite play.

Toronto FC envisions establishing Club Academy Programs (CAPs) working in coordination with the Toronto FC Academy. The CAPs will demand a premium level of training that will allow the chance for involved players, U9-U17, to be monitored and scouted in progression toward joining the Toronto FC Academy as full time members. The CAPs will create training environments that simulate the professional experience that Toronto FC's current Academy teams are accustomed to, and through club cooperation, will allow for friendly competition and collaboration for additional scouting opportunities.

Academy Director, Stuart Neely, is quick to point out that the major focus driving this initiative is the development of coaches. Toronto FC Academy is dedicated to the development of coaches in our CAPs as it is those who are working with the players on a daily basis. Our program will provide ideas, knowledge and sharing of visions that will help us all. One of my roles, here at Toronto FC, will be to ensure that all aspects of this program are fully developed from coaching information, identification of players, to coaching initiatives. It is the beginning of something exciting.

Playing a role in youth development,

Tim Chamberlain
NFSC President
