Introducing Ian Cummins! NFSC - NIAGARA FC Director of Methodology

Niagara Falls Soccer Club is excited to announce Ian Cummins on becoming our Director of Methodology!

Ian Cummings is a passionate soccer Coach and educator dedicated to the growth of players under his guidance. With a proven track record as a Coach and technical director, Ian has left an indelible mark on player development and tactical systems implementation, notably contributing to clubs like Chelsea FC and Millwall FC.

Ian is now working with the Niagara Falls Soccer Club - NIAGARA FC OPDL to build a stronger soccer community. His goal is to implement, design, and incorporate new ideas in the years to come! He will strive for player development to become a focal point of our Soccer Club from Grassroots divisions and up.

He will be in charge of creating our curriculum and building our player style of play moving forward. This will include our House League, NSL, and OPDL programs.

Possessing both National Canadian and UEFA coaching licenses, Ian's commitment to excellence transcends borders, as he has shared his expertise in Ireland, England, Canada, and France.

His coaching proficiency encompasses diverse cultural influences, and he excels in player development, strategic tactics, and fostering positive Club cultures. From grassroots to elite competitions, Ian's impact is far-reaching, having coached players who subsequently participated in prestigious events like the Premier League, NWSL, Champions League, World Cup, and the Olympics.

We have full confidence that Ian Cummins will bring extensive insight into ways we can build our soccer program.

With this introduction, we hope to build the Niagara Falls Soccer Club - NIAGARA FC into a community where young athletes can develop into the professional players they strive to be.

Niagara Falls Soccer Club would like to CONGRATULATE and announce the 10 NFSC - NIAGARA FC OPDL players that have been invited to attend the Ontario Soccer Provincial XCEL Screening Competition!

The following players should be commended for their hard work and efforts and embrace the achievement and experience of being invited to compete for the Provincial teams.

ABOUT THE PROVINCIAL XCEL PROGRAM

The Provincial Xcel Program is available to all Ontario Soccer registered players who are eligible to compete at either an U14, U15, U16, or U17 age groups.

The Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) is the primary venue in which potential Provincial Team Players are detected. There are however, alternative player detection options for those Ontario Soccer registered players who do not compete within the OPDL.

The Provincial Program will focus on player screening, talent identification and benchmarking of players through competition.

The U14, U15, U16 and U17 Provincial Screening Competitions will take place from March and April.

It is at the U15 and U17 Boys and Girls inter-Provincial Competition in May where the Canada Soccer Excel Technical Staff will be present to scout the players for potential invite to Canada Soccer National Excel Environments.

GOALS:

  1. To provide players with an inspirational experience in the Provincial program to ignite their ambition to represent Canada at the international level
  2. Talent Identification and benchmarking of player performance through quality competition 
  3. Provide the opportunity for possible new Ontario players to be selected for future Regional & National EXCEL Environments
  4. Provide opportunity for the top Ontario players to be exposed to more post-secondary opportunities, locally and abroad, in a best with best environment

The Provincial Screenings will be held on the following dates;

U16 & U17 Girls - March 2nd and 3rd 

U16 & U17 Boys - March 9th and 10th

U14 Boys - March 23rd

U15 Boys - March 24th

U14 Girls - April 6th

U15 Girls - April 7th

Winter Junior TITANS Academy Registration Live

Winter Junior TITANS Academy registration is here!

Are you ready for an exciting opportunity to kick off the new year with a passion for soccer? The eagerly awaited annual youth soccer clinic, "Junior TITANS Academy," is back, and registration is now open!

 

Junior TITANS Academy is an annual youth soccer clinic that caters to aspiring young soccer players aged 5-12. It offers a unique platform for kids to develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship under the guidance of experienced coach Vince Stranges. This clinic is not just about playing soccer; it's about nurturing a love for the beautiful game, fostering friendships, and building character.

 

The first session of the Junior TITANS Academy will kick off this January and is broken into two registration options. Here are the key details:

 

Option 1

- Dates: January 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
- Time: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (U5-U7 players)

                7:00 PM to 8:15 PM(U8-U12 players)
- Location: 3112 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls, ON L2J 2Z7
- Registration Fee: $160

 

Option 2

- Dates: January 11th, 18th, 25th, and February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

NRSP BOYS TRAINING PROGRAM COMES HOME TO NFSC!

The Niagara Falls Soccer Club will be hosting the NRSP Boys Program for 2023 and beyond!

U-9 to U-12 Boys - NSA District 2024 Team Open

Sessions [Born in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015]
Dates:  Saturday 21 - 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, Sunday 22 - 10:30 AM to 12 PM
Venue: Niagara Falls Soccer Club - Turf field. Bring a cheque payable
to Niagara Soccer Association OR cash for $200.00. Athletes wear their own
black shorts & black socks, players will receive an NSA T-shirt.


What the Niagara District Program Offers:
● The entire program will consist of 30 high-level training sessions by TD Vince Stranges. Each session will have the 4-corner development model: Technical, Physical, Social and psychological.


● Coaches from all clubs are invited to assist with this program and this may prepare you to coach in I- Model, NRSP Program or OPDL in future.


●Winter Training will be at Westlane High School on Saturday mornings between 9:00 am and 10:30 AM for 10 sessions. There will be Futsal training which promotes quality touches and is the best tool to increase skill development at the youth level.

● Summer Sessions will consist of 16 outdoor sessions at Niagara Falls Soccer Club from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.


Purpose of the Program:
● Provide a Pathway to I-Model and Niagara FC OPDL Teams
