NFSC - Niagara FC OPDL is thrilled to welcome back Coach David Currie for the 2010 Girls team in the 2025 season!
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, David developed a passion for soccer at a young age and played for several Pro-Youth Academies. He earned a full scholarship to NCAA Division 1 school, Robert Morris University, where he later became assistant coach for the men’s team, helping them win a Conference Championship.
David has coached at NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 levels and completed a Master’s in Teaching while coaching at West Liberty University. Since moving to the Niagara Region in 2012, he has trained many players who went on to play NCAA Division 1 soccer.
David joined the OPDL program in 2022, where he has been an integral part of the coaching staff. His focus has been on developing young players to compete at an elite level, emphasizing technical skills, game intelligence, and a strong work ethic. His experience with top-level athletes has helped him prepare players to transition smoothly to higher levels of competition. Through his time with OPDL, David has played a key role in nurturing talent, creating a positive environment, and driving success both on and off the field.
We also welcome back Coach Jessica Danku as the coach of the 2009 Boys for the 2025 season!
Jessica came on as Coach for the 2009 Boys this past Spring, but has been an integral part of NFSC and the NIAGARA FC OPDL Boys teams since 2021. She was recognized by Ontario Soccer and OPDL as Gatorade Coach of the Month for her work with her Boys team in 2021. She currently has the 2009 Boys working hard to have a great finish to their season and with her dedication and coaching expertise it just makes her an ideal fit to continue leading the team forward into the new year.

NFSC - Niagara FC OPDL is thrilled to welcome Coach Joe Lamberti, who has signed on to coach the 2010 Boys for the 2025 season! Coach Lamberti, a non-parent and Nationally certified coach, is dedicated to the ongoing development of not only his athletes, but also himself.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Coach Joe began his soccer journey at age three with Italia Flyers S.C., sparking a lifelong passion for the sport. Over the years, his passion for the game grew stronger, and his skills sharpened. This dedication was further fueled during a 1993 European Tour, where he competed in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Italy. In 1998, he moved to Niagara and played for Niagara College, contributing to their victory in the OCAA West Regional Championship and their advancement to the Provincial finals.
Transitioning from player to coach, Coach Lamberti has spent over a decade nurturing young talent in the Niagara area. His extensive experience spans coaching house league, competitive, and OPDL teams, giving him a keen understanding of players' unique needs at different skill levels. He is known for his approachable demeanor and ability to connect with players of all ages. Coach Lamberti emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth, taking pride in seeing his athletes develop both as soccer players and individuals, and inspiring the next generation to foster a deep love for the game.
We look forward to seeing Coach Joe out on the field working with the 2010 Boys and taking them into the next chapter of their soccer journey with OPDL!

Niagara Falls Soccer Club Announces New U13 Coaches for Boys and Girls Teams
We are thrilled to announce the appointments of Coach Jessica Danku as the U13 Girls Head Coach, and Coach Ian Cummins as the U13 Boys Head Coach for Niagara FC OPDL. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and passion, are both non-parent and hold National Certification which will be instrumental in leading our teams to success.
Coach Jessica Danku - U13 Girls Head Coach
Coach Danku joins Niagara FC with an impressive background, having played Division 1 soccer as a starting goalkeeper for Northwestern State University of Louisiana. During her collegiate career, she was ranked 12th in the nation for saves, scored 2 goals as a keeper during her freshman year, and received numerous awards for her outstanding performances. Jessica also holds a B.Sc. in Health and Exercise Science with Honors, giving her a deep understanding of the physical and mental aspects of the game. As for her coaching repertoire within the Niagara Region, starting with her home club, St. Catharines Jets, over the years, she has worked with players of all ages and levels. Coach Jessica has been with NFSC - NIAGARA FC since the debut of OPDL in Niagara in 2021, being awarded the SOCCERX Coach of the Month by OPDL, and has been an integral part of the program. Her national certification and dedication to developing young athletes make her an excellent fit to lead our U13 Girls team.
Coach Ian Cummins - U13 Boys Head Coach
Coach Cummins is a passionate soccer coach and educator, dedicated to the growth and success of the players under his guidance. With a proven track record as a coach and technical director, Ian has contributed to clubs like Chelsea FC and Millwall FC. He holds both Canadian and UEFA coaching licenses, along with national certification, and has shared his expertise across Ireland, England, Canada, and France. Ian excels in player development, strategic tactics, and fostering positive club cultures. His coaching proficiency has seen players under his guidance participate in prestigious events such as the Premier League, NWSL, Champions League, World Cup, and the Olympics. Coach Ian has been with the OPDL program here at NFSC - NIAGARA FC since 2023 and is now working as NFSC - NIAGARA FC's Performance Manager and Director of Methodology within the Club. His leadership will be a significant asset to our U13 Boys team.
