 The Niagara Falls Soccer Club Board and staff are aware of the recent concerns surrounding confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Ontario. At this time, the Niagara Region Public Health Department has stressed that the “risk to Niagara residents remains low”.  However, a statement was sent out from Ontario Soccer last night stating the following;

-----------------

From: Peter Augruso, President/Chair of the Board of Directors

Subject: Ontario Soccer suspends indefinitely all sanctioned soccer activities in the province due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer, has been monitoring the most recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the emerging public health crisis. Following discussions with the national governing body, input from relevant government agencies and medical experts, Ontario Soccer has made the difficult decision to immediately suspend all sanctioned soccer activities in the province until further notice.

Ontario Soccer sanctioned activities include, but not limited to, all competitions, training, coach and match official education and team building activities.

To ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches, match officials and administrators, Ontario Soccer recommends that all Districts, Clubs and Academies communicate to their members that they will cease operations indefinitely.

The offices of Ontario Soccer will be closed to the public during this period but staff will be available through email or phone to assist where necessary. The Ontario Soccer Centre will be closed to the public until further notice.

Ontario Soccer will continue following the guidelines set forth by the public health authorities, government agencies and soccer governing bodies.

Updates will be issued as appropriate and will include further details as warranted.

-----------------------------

Keeping in line with the directive from Ontario Soccer, the Niagara Falls Soccer Club will suspend all practices, programs, activities and events, effective immediately until April 5th, or further if necessary.

 This action has been taken to ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches, members, and staff.

 More details will follow on potential rescheduling. Please rest assured that the Niagara Falls Soccer Club Board and Staff are working diligently to continue to provide a positive soccer experience and will provide further direction in the near future.

 We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates. If you have any questions regarding this situation, please contact nfscoffice@gmail.com.

 We encourage our members to continue to practice good health hygiene, to wash their hands, use a tissue or arm when sneezing or coughing and use their best judgment when they are not feeling well.

Thank you everyone, and stay healthy!
