Ontario Soccer is proud to announce the women’s squad that will represent Team Ontario at the upcoming 2025 Canada Summer Games, taking place from August 8 to 25 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This announcement follows the recent release of the men’s squad.

Led by Head Coach Tracy Vaillancourt, Assistant Coach Brandon Frith, and Team Manager Cameron Oliver, the team will compete against the top U17 players from across the country in this elite development opportunity.

The 2025 squad will look to build on the success of the 2022 women’s team, which finished the tournament undefeated, with a remarkable 28-0 goal differential and shutout victories throughout—including an 18-0 win over Yukon and a 3-0 final win over Quebec.

Team Ontario’s roster was selected through Ontario Soccer’s Provincial Xcel Program, which identifies players through standards-based environments like the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), League1 Ontario (L1ON), and Talent on Location Days (ToLD) for players outside the traditional pathway. The program is a crucial step in the Talented Player Pathway, helping athletes progress to collegiate, professional, and national-level opportunities.

This announcement comes on the heels of a successful Ontario-Quebec Series in May, where Ontario teams earned eight wins, one loss, and three draws across 12 matches.

The Canada Summer Games, featuring 19 sports and over 3,600 athletes, is one of the nation’s largest multi-sport events. Ahead of the Games, Team Ontario will hold a Training Camp at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre, August 12–16.

Ontario Soccer congratulates the players and staff named to the team and wishes them the best of luck in St. John’s.
